AstraZeneca, the world's biggest drugmaker, has announced the discontinuation of its antidepressant Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate) from its schizophrenia treatment, Seroquel XR.

Quetiapine is usually taken twice daily, preferably at the same time of day, with or without food. The duration of treatment can be up to three weeks. Quetiapine may be taken with or without food. Quetiapine is not recommended for use in patients who have had a major depressive episode.
